1988: Bruins fall to Oilers

May 26, 1988: The Bruins’ storybook season came to an end in Game Four of the Stanley Cup Finals, as Boston fell 6-3 to Edmonton. The Oilers, with their fourth Cup win in five years, were clearly the more dominant team. Led by Wayne Gretzky, who got the series winner, Edmonton simply was better than Boston in 1988.
